Queensland Buffers is a non-profit association that promotes sporting and social interaction between people of all generations, cultures and communities.
The clubs name incorporates the word Buffer which means "silly or incompetent old man" and keeping with the origins of the Buffers tradition, the club's activities are centred around a soccer club for players over the age of 35.
The club is one of many associations with other affiliated clubs based in South Africa, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Canada and Auckland. Most club activities are geared towards enabling participation in the annual soccer tournament which features all affiliated Buffer associations.
However, Queensland Buffers are more than just a soccer club. The club actively promotes the development of a supportive and harmonious community spirit underpinned by loyalty, integrity, and strong family values. A busy social calendar supports the development and maintenance of these values.
The long-term vision is for a community organisation supporting a range of sporting, social and community aid programs, operating from owned facilities which Buffers of all ages can call "their own".
